FAQs
What is biophilic design?
Biophilic design seeks to connect people and nature in buildings and homes. By using natural elements we can create a sense of harmony between modern architecture and the natural world. Plants, living walls and moss panels can help make the connection to nature.
How long does it take for plants to acclimate?
Your new plants have been through quite an environmental shift since their growth in the Florida sun; Shipping on a truck and being replanted in your space unsettles plants. Plants are successfully acclimated with proper care, provided by your horticulturist, usually after 2-3 weeks.
Everyone talks about the benefits of houseplants and improving air quality, what about allergens?
Our horticulturists take care to wipe down the leaves with a microfiber cloth, or towels that trap dust. We take care to moderate moisture levels on the soil surface and within the plant’s container so allergens don’t develop. If soil surfaces become out of balance our horticulturists quickly manage the situation with one of our non-toxic remedies.
How often will a horticulturist visit my space?
After we’ve installed your interior plantscape, our Operations Manager will choose a horticulturist that best suits you and the needs of your plantscape. Typically, initial visits will be weekly to ensure the new plants have properly acclimated to your space, and then will return for bi-weekly care.
Do I have enough sunlight in my space?
The amount of sunlight determines the plant species that are used in your plantscape design. Very few indoor plants actually thrive in direct sunlight; most prefer filtered or indirect light. If your space has artificial light sources exclusively it does not mean that you will be unable to have plants in your space. Many indoor plants can flourish in artificial light, as long as their exposure to the light is appropriate. Your horticulturist will adjust care for various environmental factors.
Can we choose our plants?
Our process allows for getting to know you and your preferences, we take a look at the aesthetic of your space, and listen to your likes and dislikes and make recommendations. If your preferences will work with your conditions, and your plant is available from our suppliers, we would love to make your plant dreams happen!
